The two stage cleaner comes with a paper outer element and a foam inner element. As soon as the paper element gets dirty, throw it out and replace it with a gauze element. Use a thin layer of grease on the outer edges of the element to seal it to the top and bottom. Two other tips are to use a roofing washer under the wing nut and to drill a small hole in the stud and put a safety pin through it to keep the wing nut from backing off. You will also need to buy the rubber adapter to mount it to your carb. A stock carb has a 2" neck.
